KARATE TEAM of UBP KARAWANG was 2nd WINNER On NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
1,421 karate athletes participated in the UPI Cup III 2018 National Championship (Kejurnas) which was held at the UPI Gymnasium Jalan Setiabudi, Bandung City.

The championship, which took place 2-4 November 2018, was fighting for a total prize of up to IDR 10 million more. The National Championship this time competed around 360 competition numbers in both kata and kumite classes. The competition itself is divided into six age groups ranging from early age groups, pre-beginners, beginners, cadets, juniors and seniors.
National Championship which is a routine event for two years of UKM Karate UPI, was held to provide a competition for athletes to evaluate the results of training. With this national championship, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of karate athletes in Indonesia. Moreover, the sport of karate successfully presented a gold medal at the XVIII Asian Games in 2018.
Among the many participants involved, Nurhayati, an Information System Student class 2015 (SI15A), University of Buana Perjuangan, Karawang, won second place in this championship. Although initially feeling insecure, because of her optimism and feeling that she was ready, Nurhayati succeeded in defeating her opponents. Nurhyati hopes that in the future there can be other Nurhayati at UBP who can follow in her footsteps and become the first winner at the national and even international levels.
