Universitas Buana Perjuangan Karawang was established by the Foundation for Higher Education Trustees of Pangkal Perjuangan (YPPTPP) in 2014. YPPTPP formed a team for preparing proposals for the establishment of UBP Karawang through Decree No. 149/SK/A/YPPTPP/IX/2014 consisting of 10 people. Dr. H. Dedi Mulyadi, SE, MM was appointed as Chancellor with a Foundation Decree No. 151/SK/A/YPPTPP/IX/2014 dated 18 September 2014 regarding the Appointment of the Chancellor of the University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang.
UBP Karawang received a decree of establishment from the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia through SKI Number 611/E/O/2014 dated 17 October 2015 concerning the Establishment Permit of the University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang, consisting of 10 study programs, namely:
Management – S1
Accounting – S1
Psychology – S1
Legal Studies – S1
Elementary School Teacher Education – S1
Pancasila and Citizenship Education – S1
Pharmacy – S1
Industrial Engineering – S1
Informatics Engineering – S1
Information System – S1
The inscription of the inauguration of the Karawang UBP operation was signed by the Director of Institutional and Cooperation of DIKTI, Prof. Ir. Hermawan Kresno Dipojono, MSEE, Ph.D. December 9, 2014 witnessed by the YPPTPP Management, UBP leaders and the local community.
The socialization of the establishment of UBP Karawang was carried out on January 14, 2015 by YPPTPP and UBP by inviting elements of the Regional Government, Heads of Senior High Schools, Leaders of Higher Education, and community leaders in Karawang Regency.
UBP Karawang began to open new student registrations in February 2015. To complement the human resources of Lecturers and Education Personnel as well as the completeness of the organizational structure, YPPTPP conducted personnel recruitment in April 2015. The appointment was to fulfill academic services in several university leadership positions, faculty leaders, program heads studies and administration.
The new officials were given the task of revising and completing the RIP, Statute, Strategic Plan, Renop documents, completeness of Higher Education Governance and Curriculum according to the latest Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education regulations, as well as submitting the Higher Education Code on the Forlap Dikti page so that on May 6, 2015 UBP Karawang was officially operates with the College code Number 041062.
To complete the requirements for public trust, according to the rules of Higher Education, you can apply for accreditation to the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) after 2 years of operation since its establishment, so that in 2016 all study programs at UBP Karawang have been accredited by BAN-PT, while Institutional Accreditation will be carried out in 2018.
