For classroom learning, students are given material about the early history of the formation of Indonesia in prehistoric times, the kingdom period, colonialism, the national movement, independence to the present. As for the field, students are directed to visit historical sites in local Karawang, namely the Rawagede Monument (held on 26, 27 October and 2 November 2019). At the monument, a public lecture was held which was delivered by Mr. Sukarman, a historian of Karawang. He explained the beginning of Indonesia’s independence which was marked by the exile of Soekarno-Hatta to Rengasdengklok by youths until the massacre in Rawagede during the Dutch military aggression on December 9, 1947. Then the next visit was the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya to trace the G30S tragedy, followed by visited the platforms of the provinces in Indonesia at TMII (held on November 30 and December 7, 2019).
As the MKU Jatidiri Bangsa Team, we are very enthusiastic about the visit, we hope that this kind of visit will continue because it provides valuable knowledge and experience for the younger generation of Indonesia so that they can remember and practice the noble values of the Indonesian nation.
