Industrial Visit of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang

10 – 14 February 2020, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Buana Perjuangan Karawang, has conducted a field industrial visit to PT. SIDOMUNCUL, the Center for Research and Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicines of Tawangmangu, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and Pharmacy Study Program UMY. This activity was attended by 90 participants consisting of 71 students and 9 lecturers.

The purpose of the field visit to the Traditional Medicine Industry and the Center for Research and Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicines of Tawangmangu and to improve the academic atmosphere for students and the tri dharma of Higher Education for lecturers. In addition, according to Farhan, one of the students who participated in the industrial visit, “This industrial visit has the aim of introducing students to the world of work and to provide an overview of the direct application of various courses that have been studied in lectures”.

Furthermore, Farhan also added “there are many benefits that we can get from yesterday’s industrial visit, including being able to directly compare the theory obtained on campus with conditions in the world of work and can expand students’ knowledge about the world of work”.

According to the Head of Study Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Anggun Hari Kusumawati, S.Farm., M.Si.,apt “it feels good because I can learn better to improve the academic atmosphere at the Faculty of Pharmacy in particular and UBP Karawang in general, can upgrade knowledge, especially in the Tri dharma of Higher Education. for lecturers, and sharing knowledge in the academic field”.

Furthermore, he also added “I hope this activity will be even better if it is followed up with an MoU between universities and related agencies such as PT. Sidomuncul and BPTOT Tawangmangu in order to add to the list of agencies where Pharmacy students work practice at the University of Buana Perjuangan Karawang”.
